About Me
Hi! I’m a freelance visual storyteller and designer in Baltimore, MD.
Most recently, I worked as a news designer and in-house illustrator at The Baltimore Banner and ProPublica. I’ve taught illustration at Maryland Institute College of Art and Towson University. I began my design career assisting the art department at Candlewick Press and self-publishing mini comics and zines to sell at festivals around Boston.
How do you say it? My name, Laila, is Latvian. You pronounce it as lie-luh. Similar to Laika the space dog.
